Friends have you ever given thought to the philosophy of Re-birth?? Yes Re-birth or to say Re-incarnation of same person’s soul into a new body? You must have watched TV programmes where a 5-6 year old child narrates about his/her past life giving accurate description of his past life places, persons or relatives of past life very accurately, when the child is taken to those places. If he/she has been murdered then the child accurately and vividly describes the event of death telling the name of killer and place of murder. Many times child tells that where he/she was shot at or stabbed in the past life body and often child has been found to have such marks on the present life body at same position. After such description have been verified when postmortem reports of that murder are checked. Many times such stories make headlines in newspapers and real life stories of many magazines. Do we really re-incarnate? So far answer to this question is related more to belief then reason!! In Hinduism, re-incarnation has been accepted deeply and is a very prominent part of the philosophy of life after death. In Hinduism it is believed that body is driven by an energy called soul, which does not disintegrate, only changes bodies. It has been said that all Karmic-bonds, which arise due to the relations and actions of our physical body, are carried after death as micro-body imprints on soul and these karmic-debts may keep on accumulating and are carried over from one life to the next, until resolved. This philosophy has been very well explained in Bhagwat-Gita, wherein it has been explicitly mentioned that it is the ‘Soul’ which drives the life in a body. The life & death of a body cannot be explained only on the basis of physical and biological laws. The moment soul leaves a body, it dies and of course a body can be maintained ‘live’ with the help of equipments but ‘life’ cannot be drawn back into it. That means there is SOMETHING, the being of which keeps a body physically and mentally active. This is ‘Soul’. At death SOUL leaves the body and all karmic issues related to this soul, through that body, remain imprinted on soul. Soul makes new re-incarnation on account of these karmic-issues. Apart from Hindu religion, many other religions and cultures across the world do subscribe the Re-incarnations theory and accept the philosophy of Karmic-issue(कर्म बंधन). Western world and philosophy has long rejected the philosophy of life after death but with more & more accumulation of newer scientific evidences, the concepts of Re-birth is gaining credence. Today proof in its favors has surfaced in various corners of the world through Past Life Regression (PLR), Near Death Experiences (NDE) and case studies by medical journals, accompanied by records of significant number of people who have remembered their past lives. Today I introduce to you (may be you already know him) Dr. Brian Weiss, a scientist, Medical doctor and Chief of Psychiatry (1980 onward) of University of Miami Hospital, USA, who re-established the reincarnation theory in rather scientific manner. In 1980, Dr. Weiss was counseling, Catherine, a 27-28 year old girl, suffering with psychological disorders, at Miami Hospital. After a prolonged counseling & medical treatment of about 18 months, Catherine did not show any significant improvement in her conditions. One day Dr. Weiss thought to use Hypnotic Regression Therapy (In this patient is hypnotized and is taken back in his/her memory lane to re-live events.) to know any disturbing event which might have been buried in the subconscious mind and keep disturbing her mind on & off, Catherine not being aware of it in her conscious mind. In one such regression Catherine reached into her Past life, which she had lived in 1863 BC. Dr. Weiss did not believe this initially and thought that Catherine might have hallucinated. He took her into Hypnotic Regression many times and became awestruck at each regression when Catherine unfolded stories of her 86-87 lives. Each session was tape recorded. Catherine identified many people in her current life to be present in her past lives in various relations. Different births were found to be interrelated on account of Karmic issues. Later on Dr. Weiss used PLR on hundreds of patients and once satisfied he published account of Catherine’s past life details as a real life story in 1988 (Many Lives Many Masters, Dr. Brain Weiss, 1988, Hay House Publication, USA). The book soon became a best seller and many more such accounts soon came to fore in the form of books of other scientists and also as papers in scientific Journals. All those publications gave a scientific credence to the philosophy of Re- incarnation. Today hundreds of people have experienced their past lives and have been benefited through it, as emotional therapy. Friends at Khushi Ki Pathshala, we attempt Stress counseling and wherever we feel we use Past Life Regression as a therapy to take people into their past lives to make them understand what is the cause of their sufferings in current life, which has a origin in any of their past life on account of karmic issues. पुनर्जन्म
दोस्तों शायद कभी आपके मन में ये ख़याल आया हो कि क्या हमारा जन्म बार बार होता है? जी हाँ पुनर्जन्म !! आपनें TV में पुनर्जन्म के किस्से देखे होंगे जिनमें कोई 5–6 साल का बच्चा अपने पिछले जीवन की घटनाओं, स्थान व रिश्तों का सटीक वर्णन करता है और उन स्थानों पर ले जाने पर सब कुछ सही सही बताता है. यदि पिछले जन्म में मृत्यु कत्ल से हुई है तो मारने वाले व्यक्ति का नाम व क़त्ल के स्थान का भी सही वर्णन करता है. कत्ल के बाद हुए पुनर्जन्म के बच्चों के शरीर पर गोली या घाव के निशान भी पाए गए हैं, और जब पिछले जन्म में हुई उस death से जुड़ी पोस्टमॉर्टेम रिपोर्ट को चैक किया गया तो उनमें भी मृतक के शरीर पर उन्हीं स्थानों पर चोट के निशान बताये हुए पाए गए, जिन स्थानों पर इन बच्चों के शरीर पर निशान देखे गए. अखबारों और पत्रिकाओं में भी ऐसे किस्से कई बार आये हैं और उनकी सत्यता चकित कर जाती है !!
क्या हमारा पुनर्जन्म वाकई होता है? इस प्रश्न का उत्तर अभी तक तर्क से कम और आस्था से ज्यादा जुड़ा है. हिन्दू दर्शन में पुनर्जन्म को पूर्ण मान्यता दी गयी है. इसमें ये बताया गया है की शरीर को एक ऊर्जा चलाती है जिसे ‘आत्मा’ कहा गया है और ये माना जाता है की आत्मा अज़र-अमर होती है जिसे नष्ट नहीं किया जा सकता है. यदि आत्मा को energy माना जाये तो आत्मा के अज़र-अमर होने का सिद्धांत आईंस्टीन के ऊर्जा के सिद्धांत से पूर्ण रूप से मिलता है, जिसमें यही prove किया गया है की energy का रूप बदलता है वो कभी नष्ट नहीं होती. आत्मा शरीर बदलती रहती है और हर शरीर, जो ये आत्मा गृहण करती है, उससे जुड़े रिश्ते और कर्म आदि बनते बिगड़ते रहते हैं. भगवत गीता में इन बातों को विशेष रूप से स्पष्ट किया गया है. उसमें बताया गया है की आत्मा ही शरीर की driving force है. इसके शरीर से निकलते ही शरीर की जीवन शक्ति ख़त्म हो जाती है और शरीर निष्प्राण हो जाता है.
पश्चिमी समाज और विज्ञान ने पुनर्जन्म के सिद्धांत को हमेशा नकारा पर अब पश्चिम में भी इसे लगभग मान्यता मिलने लगी है. वैज्ञानिक अब ये मानने लगे हैं कि जैविक और भौतिक प्रमाणों के परे भी कोई शक्ति है जो इस ब्रह्मांड का संचालन करती है. केवल भौतिक और जैविक नियमों के आधार पर ही जीवन की complexities को explain नहीं किया जा सकता है. वैज्ञानिक प्रयोगों में इस बात को स्पष्ट रूप से देखा गया कि, कोई energy तो है जिसके निकलने के बाद शरीर को उपकरणों की मदद से जिन्दा तो रखा जा सकता है पर उसमें जीवन नहीं लाया जा सकता. यही energy ही ‘आत्मा’ है, जिसके होने से ही शरीर ‘प्राणमय’ और ‘गतिशील’ हो जाता है (Physically & Mentally Active). जीवित शरीर से कर्म और उसके फल जुड़े होते हैं और आत्मा शरीर तो छोड़ देती है पर उससे जुड़े कर्म और फलों से जुड़ी रहती है और इन्ही कर्म-बंधनों के फलस्वरूप बार बार जन्म लेती है. कर्मफल और पुनर्जन्म का सिद्धांत जटिल है और अलग से चर्चा का विषय है. हिन्दू धर्म के अतिरिक्त कई अन्य धर्मों, संस्कृतियों व सभ्यताओं में भी मनुष्य के बार बार जन्म लेने को स्वीकारा गया है और जन्म से जुड़े कर्म-बंधनों की philosophy को माना गया है.
दोस्तों ख़ुशी की पाठशाला में हम पुनर्जन्म से जुड़े रहस्यों को एक नए नज़रिए से प्रस्तुत करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. इस ब्लॉग में इस विषय में हम आपसे अक्सर चर्चा करते रहेंगे. इसी सिलसिले में आईये इस बार मैं आपको मिलवाता हूँ डॉ ब्रायन वीस से, जिन्होंने पुनर्जन्म की मान्यताओं को नए सिरे से establish किया है. डॉ. वीस अमैरिका में University of Miami Hospital में Department of Psychiatry के चीफ (1980 से) रहे हैं. (वर्तमान में रिटायर्ड हैं और पुनर्जन्म के ऊपर अनुसंधान करने का इंस्टिट्यूट चलाते हैं). 1980 में डॉ. वीस कैथरीन नाम की २७-२८ साल की लड़की के मनोरोग का इलाज़ कर रहे थे. लगभग 18 महीनें की काउन्सलिंग और दवाईयों से इलाज़ का बाद भी जब कैथेरिन की हालत में कोई विशेष सुधार नहीं आया तो डॉ वीस ने hypnotism की मदद लेने का सोचा. यहाँ मैं आपको बता दूँ कि मेडिकल साइंस में hypnotism द्वारा मनोरोगी के अवचेतन मन (subconscious mind) में झाँक कर उन बातों का पता लगाया जा सकता है जिनके कारण उसे मानसिक समस्या हो रही होती है और ये जानकारी इलाज़ में सहायक होती है (इसे hypnotic regression कहते हैं). हाँ तो डॉ वीस कैथरीन को hypnotize करके उसकी current लाइफ की memories में ले गए और उसके बचपन में घटित कुछ बुरी घटनाओं को जान सके जो की उसके subconscious mind में अंकित थीं और उसे इनके बारे में कुछ याद नहीं था, पर ये bad memories उसके मानसिक रोग का कुछ कुछ कारण थीं. इनको जानने के बाद कैथरीन की हालत में जब कुछ सुधार आया तो डॉ वीस ने कुछ और hypnotic regression करने का सोचा. पर ऐसे ही एक hypnotic regression में कैथरीन ने जो बताया वो अचंभित करने वाला था. कैथरीन ने अपने एक जन्म के बारे में बताया जो उसने 1863 BC में जिया था !! डॉ वीस की वैज्ञानिक सोच ने इसे स्वीकार नहीं किया. उन्होंने इसे कैथरीन का hallucination समझा. लेकिन इसके बाद जब जब वो कैथरीन को hypnotic regression में ले गए तो उसने नए नए जन्मों के बारे में बताया. कैथरीन नें लगभग 85-87 past lives के बारे में बताया और ये आपस में जुड़ी भी थीं !! डॉ वीस ने इन सभी hypnotic regressions को टेप रिकॉर्ड किया. फिर उन्होंने अपने अन्य कई मरीजों पर भी जब hypnotic regression का प्रयोग किया तो उनमें से कईयों नें अपने पिछले जन्मों का विवरण दिया. वर्ष 1988 में डॉ वीस ने इसे publish किया (Many Lives Many Masters, 1988, HAY Publishing House, USA). चिकित्सा जगत में तहलका मचा. इसी समय ऐसे अन्य कई वृतान्त सामने आये. Near Death Experience के कई किस्से medical Journals में publish हुए और इस बारे में कई किताबें भी publish हुयीं. इन सब बातों नें पुनर्जन्म की अवधारणा को एक नयी दिशा और वैज्ञानिक प्रासंगिता दी. hypnotic regression के द्वारा पिछले जन्मों की स्मृतियों में जाने को Past Life Regression कहते हैं और आजकल सैकड़ों लोग Past Life Regression Therapy का अनुभव कर रहे हैं.
